How Do They Find The Time?

I envy those ladies who manage to set a table for afternoon tea most days of the week. And I mean complete tea sets with linens and all sorts of sweet and savory treats.  Lately I can barely whip up a cup while planning the dinner menu.

Come on. Where do they find the time? With housework hanging above your head and kids to manage on a daily basis , is it still possible? I think they'd say, "You make time". Well maybe if you're talking of some me time, carving out time for a cup of tea within the day for your sanity's sake is imperative.

Ladies, we are often guilty of scrimping on ourselves whether materially or emotionally, believing everyone else is more important. I think we owe it to ourselves to enjoy a few moments of stillness. Remember we cannot give what we don't have.

So how do they do it? The secret it would seem is to start setting up right after lunch. Take out the nice teaset, linens and cutlery and set the table. Then along with the tea, there must be a treat or two waiting in the pantry or chilling in the fridge.  Most afternoon tea usually takes place between 4pm and 5pm so you have plenty of time to finish other tasks.

The important thing I believe is to savor those fleeting moments of relaxation.  Just take a breath and be in the moment.  You don't have to wait for a special occasion. Because life itself is reason enough to celebrate.
