Frolicking Giraffe Cake

Happy New Year! Thought I'd let you see a cake I did a while back. A frolicking giraffe...my first handmade 3D cake topper. What a joy (pain) to make. It's all marshmallow fondant-covered styrofoam of course. I didn't even dare make it with cake. It was fashioned from a ceramic coin bank that the little girl owns. She collects all things giraffe you see.

The cake base is a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and covered in boiled icing. Despite my being out of practice (that's why I was so nervous about it and said it's a pain to make), I'd say it turned out pretty well.
